Doing it Our Way

   We will never create our own utopia.

   As in Joshua's time, we do what is right in our own eyes.

   Whatever the issue, like Whack-a-Mole, our medicine has side effects.

   Something breaks; people expect imperfect leaders to mend it.

   There is One who would lead us - but the world rejects him.

I form the light and create darkness;
I bring prosperity and create disaster;
I, the Lord do all these things.
Isaiah 45:7

   Do we really get him?

   Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker...
v. 9

   The Sovereign Lord would have governed ancient Israelites and blessed them greatly.

   They preferred a king - and here we are, 3,000 years later.

   Kings play God ... while He is busy saving souls.

   His creation groans until the Lamb returns as a Lion, and the serpent is deported to inner earth.

   Meanwhile, we can serve our King of kings, but we are aliens and strangers here.

   The Christian's true citizenship is in Heaven.
