The No. 1 Issue?
Monday morning during breakfast I asked Mrs. Donut her opinion about the 2024 election now underway.
"What's more important, the economy or the border?"
Many voters say the economy comes first. We understand...if people can't afford what they need or they need to work 2-1/2 jobs to pay the bills, this is serious.
My wife's answer: the border comes first, and she backed it up. "I agree with you," I said. (It's wise to agree with the Mrs.)
Reasonable wealth in whatever form beats poverty. But! But, can we enjoy our wealth if so many communities are being overrun and the federal government could care less about our Constitution?
What happens in Chicago when black gangs (with guns) are losing out to illegal immigrants? When America's children must compete with illegals for classrooms? When hospitals and doctor's offices are stretched to accommodate patients. As in Canada.
So, which is more important, a football team or the field they play on? The team, of course, but without a field...no game.
Without orderly society and equality for all...no assurance of safety or wealth for we the people.
