Brothers Getting Kicks Out of Life
And one of them, Alex McPherson, wears an ostomy bag. But that doesn't keep him from kicking field goals and extra points for the Auburn Tigers.
His older brother Evan kicks for the professional Bengals (those are tigers also if you didn't know). Evan went from the Florida Gators to Cincinnati. In 2021 he tied the NFL record for post season field goals without a miss.
The brothers also have faith in common, with humility. Evan says "we are here to do for God. My journey is for everyone to know Jesus Christ."
His brother Alex, 5 foot 9 and 160 pounds, in high school set an Alabama state record with a 61-yard field goal. In 2023 he made all 13 field goal attempts and all 40 extra points for Auburn.
But last season, out of nowhere, he dropped to 110 pounds. With ulcerative colitis, his entire large intestine was removed. He credits "the Great Physician" and his faith is stronger, he says, back in the game at Auburn.
His older brother Evan emphasizes "spirituality, physically and mentally, personal salvation and appreciation for God's blessing."
